Meet a MAKEENer
The beginning
I began my career in MAKEEN Energy as a locksmith on the night shift folding iron plates for the production.
When the night shift was shut down in 1998, I expressed a desire to learn more about computers. I was then transferred to the stock where I mainly registered incoming parts in our software system and picked out parts for production or dispatch.
In 2003, the management posted an internal job advertisement for the position as Technical Writer. I did not have the necessary qualifications for this job, but I wanted to give it a chance. So, I told the manager in charge that if he chose me and gave me the necessary introduction and training, he would get the best and most dedicated employee. I got the job!
My current job
I am responsible for the technical documentation in MAKEEN Gas Solutions. Each time a new LPG project is delivered to a client, it is my job to ensure that the client receives all relevant documentation.
The documentation is at our production facilities in Sri Lanka, so part of my job is to train the documentation team in Sri Lanka in order to ensure that they get all the necessary information, knowledge and tools and to coordinate between the Design Department in Denmark and the documentation team in Sri Lanka.
I find this job very exciting and motivating. I have visited my colleagues in Sri Lanka several times, and I very much enjoy working with them and teaching them everything I know. I took on the same job of training my colleagues in France back in 2007/08 and I really enjoy this part of my job. I can truly identify with one of the values of MAKEEN Energy, “Share knowledge - make others good”.
What is the best thing about working for MAKEEN Energy?
Without a doubt the flexibility and personal responsibility. I can plan my working day according to my workload and my personal life, and no one is ever controlling me. We are trusted employees in the sense that we are expected to take full responsibility for our job.
