Originally, Safir had intended to separately tender each of the project's six parts, but ended up awarding MAKEEN Energy the complete scope requested for the el Oued Project (except for civil works and fire water piping which were awarded to local companies).
Visiting MAKEEN Energy subsidiary, Kosan Crisplant, in the summer of 2015, the Safir team had the chance to discuss the project with the development specialists dedicated to the project and see the engineering and production facilities. Thus, the team gained a thorough insight into the extent of Kosan Crisplant's global resources, skills and extensive experience with the specialized field of LPG.
A team of specialist was composed with members from the Algerian staff, Large-Scale-Project resources from Kosan Crisplant's headquarters and members from KC's regional office in France, ensuring that all the necessary skills for the project were represented i.e. extensive local knowledge, specialist expertise, project management experience, commercial and general management skills.
