Meet a MAKEENer
Developing innovative solutions
How do you contribute to innovation in your job role?
I'm good at generating new ideas, both good and bad ones, and I'm also skilled at sketching. It may sound trivial, but when we face a new problem, it often takes 100 bad ideas to come up with a really good one. And being able to illustrate it on a whiteboard makes it clear and easier to discuss.
As a Design Engineer, my main task is to transform these crazy ideas and innovative thoughts into a durable product that actually works. This requires thinking differently and using solutions from other fields, including agriculture and cooking, which are areas we often draw parallels from.
Do you experience MAKEEN Energy as a place where there is room for new ideas?
As part of the DecomBlades team, I definitely experience it that way.
Here, we have the freedom to explore different solutions, build prototypes, and conduct tests. When you venture into a field where no one has tried it before, testing becomes essential because it's impossible to predict what will happen.
A simple sketch from a morning meeting can be turned into a 3D model before noon and ordered from the blacksmith by the end of the day. Therefore, the next day, we can assemble our prototype and see the results right away. This efficient workflow is invaluable when working in our field.
What are you most proud of in terms of innovating new solutions?
I'm generally extremely proud to be part of DecomBlades. When I tell my family and friends what I work on, they can easily relate to wind turbine blades, and they can see that we're solving a significant problem. It's very motivating for me to work on a solution that is scalable and circular, and in that way, actually make a difference in the green transition.
