Three names that have shaped who we are today
This year is a big year for MAKEEN Energy to celebrate. Three different companies that are part of MAKEEN Energy have reached important milestone anniversaries, marking all the years that we have been committed to both energy solutions and the customers who need them. To properly celebrate, let’s look back at where these companies started and how far they’ve come today.
Kosan Crisplant - Celebrating 75 Years!
Founded in 1951 by Svend Christensen, the company started out by selling transport systems for products such as milk cans and gas cylinders. Then, in 1970, we became the catalyst for the introduction of LPG as a fuel and energy source in many parts of the world.
Now, in 2026, one of the company’s biggest changes has been our growth. When Kosan Crisplant first moved to the factory in Aarhus (back in 1960!), we only had 35 employees. Today, as one half of MAKEEN Gas Solutions, our operations are based in Randers, with over 200 employees on-site in Denmark, and many more across the world. Even though decades have passed, our biggest mission is still to be an innovative and outstanding provider of equipment and services to the gas business.
CPI - Celebrating 80 Years!
CPI, or Consórcio Português Intercontinental S.A., was founded in 1946 by technical managers from various oil companies in Portugal. These managers combined their knowledge of the industry’s demands to come together to create a company that has lasted decades.
When they started, the company’s primary focus was on supplying components for liquid and gaseous networks, with special emphasis on combustible products and industrial gases. Today, under the name of MAKEEN Gas Equipment Portugal, we offer tailor-made equipment skids, such as compressors, pumps, and more, for our customers. One thing has certainly stayed the same: our dedication to customers and long-term success.
Siraga - Celebrating 90 Years!
Since 1936, Siraga’s vision has been to develop innovative solutions that benefit both people and the environment. From the start in France, the company has specialised in designing, manufacturing, and servicing equipment for customers’ LPG filling plants, and for 90 years, we have created long-lasting, tailor-made solutions, delivering high-quality equipment and engineering services worldwide.
Today, Siraga is part of MAKEEN Gas Solutions, and continues to uphold the company's founding values: honesty, integrity, constant development, and being there through our projects from start to finish.
Together, we make today worth celebrating. Together, we are MAKEEN.
Looking at our history also inspires us to look towards the future. We aspire to continue to provide high-quality services and performances to our customers, no matter where in the world they are. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the ongoing dedication and hard work of our employees around the world.
