IT Manager (Back office operations)

We are looking for an experienced IT Backoffice Manager who can expand and improve MAKEEN Energy´s IT solutions globally.


As our new IT Backoffice Manager, you will be heading our ambitious plan to establish a new IT support department in Sri Lanka. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of IT functions within a global Matrix organization. This includes the maintenance and implementation of systems, policies, and procedures to support the global organization’s strategic goals and objectives.

You have relevant education and experience in the field as well as solid knowledge of IT in general, infrastructure, project management experience, and good business understanding. You have experience in managing an IT department, and it is important that you can stay focused on operations, collaboration, and development.

It will also be your responsibility to ensure that the right competencies are available in the team and that competence development is continuously carried out. There is an expectation that you will quickly function as an integrated part of everyday life, both in terms of managing your own initiatives and employees as well as creating cohesion across the global matrix organization.

You will refer to the Managing Director in Sri Lanka and the Head of Group Process Improvement in Denmark.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT management
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems - Some of the keywords in our IT landscape are Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Windows, SQL, Azure and Microsoft 365, Power BI
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with the ERP systems and IFS is an advantage
  • Knows about SQL coding
  • Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g.: IFS, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) are a plus

Key responsibilities

  • Daily management and strengthening of the IT department, where you get influence on setting up the team
  • Participate in daily tasks in the department
  • Ensure a close dialog with the global stakeholders and management in Denmark
  • Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices to support the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Responsibility for the maintenance and development of our business systems
  • You will be responsible for unifying and optimizing our IT solutions and work processes
  • Contribute to ensuring that our internal SLA is met
  • Basic data management
