Sales Representative - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

MAKEEN Energy employs more than 3,500 people across 6 continents and operates in over 140 countries.  To drive and support MAKEEN Gas Equipment growth in Saudi Arabia and GCC countries, we are looking for a dynamic and self-driven colleague with a passion for sales. While your sales skills are paramount and you hold successful experience establishing and maintaining excellent customer relations, you also possess some level of relevant technical knowhow.

Your role

You will identify and drive business opportunities and support the commercial staff in technical questions. You will proactively communicate with and visit customers in order to nurse and develop business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and support whichever technical questions that might arise. As our new Sales Representative, your primary responsibilities will be to build, maintain, and develop relationships with customers and to drive new business opportunities throughout the dedicated sales area. Our customers are primarily gas companies, specialist gas companies, installers and contractors, main contractors, users of gas for production purposes, and local authorities.


  • Develop strategies for growing existing business, creating new business, re-establishing lapsed accounts and achieving predetermined targets.
  • Introduce, promote and sell a range of specialist products preferably for LPG, but also LNG, NH3, hydrogen and Cryogenics.
  • Arrange appointments, visit sites, make presentations, deal and resolve customer queries as well as negotiate the closing of profitable sales, in line with the company policy and business plans.
  • Collect insight into customers’ businesses, identify opportunities, clarify needs, uncover pains, capture benefits as well as design and present customized solutions that create value
  • Attend trade fairs, when relevant, in line with the company policy
  • Gather information on competitor products, pricing and offers, and update the company CRM-platform accordingly
  • Participate in internal sales meetings and make transparent progress and workflow reports to the management
  • As your job is in close contact with the customer, we expect that you interpret the job as a profession “on the road” rather than sitting behind the PC screen.

Requirements and profile

  • Great advantage if you have a basic engineering knowledge, however, you will have a strong Backoffice team to support you on both technical and administrative aspects.
  • Independent, competitive self-starter who takes full responsibility for his/her own sales budget. At the same time, the sales team is characterized by transparency, teamwork and knowledge sharing, and it is important to find a colleague who identifies with these values.
  • Impressive track record in delivering on sales, profit and margin targets and are confident working with KPI’s
  • Excellent communication skills (Arabic and English) both in speech and writing, and can communicate at all levels of an organization, preference.
  • Have advanced skills in interpersonal relationship management, so you can lead and manage a conversation, listen and understand customers’ motivations, by nature show emotional engagement and earn the trust of others
  • Are an experienced user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and a computer literate in general
  • Have no restrictions in travelling abroad (GCC, Europe, but also within Saudi Arabia)
  • As a person, you take ownership and are dedicated by nature. You are persistent, result-oriented and have a strong “we can” attitude.
