A friend in a time of need

The clowns are very funny, and they can make me laugh even though I am in pain and very tired.

Danish Hospital Clowns

Maiken has been in and out of the hospital many times in her life, and the frequent stays can be tedious at best. A visit from a pair of colourful clowns is a welcome change for her in a time of pain, sickness and anxiety. That is why we sponsor and support Danish Hospital Clowns.

Danish Hospital Clowns is a nationwide association that aims to bring little moments of joy to children who are struggling with illness. The clown, a symbol of silliness and carefreeness, is a bright contrast to the sterile world of wires, syringes and white coats. By producing smiles and laughs when they are most needed, the clown helps make everyday life in the hospital easier for the child and its relatives.

The clown also acts as a friend whom the child can confide in. The clowns are equipped to talk about the difficult subjects and can give the child an outlet for its emotions - including their fear, anger and powerlessness. However, they also help the child look past illnesses to bring out the playful, imaginative child within.

In MAKEEN Energy, we are honoured to sponsor and support the work of Danish Hospital Clowns, and we encourage everyone to support their efforts in helping children like Maiken through difficult times.
